I’m Lisa, another DAST and curious student, fan of colliding particles, supersonic speeds and interplanetary travels. As you can see from the previous introductory post, my fellow colleagues are doing pretty cool and unique stuff here. In this one I will unveil a part of my Uni life.
Seatbelts fastened?

Okay, let’s start. Being a huge fan of everything connected to space, you can probably predict which study path I selected at the beginning of the year. I’m absolutely in love with the subjects we have here, especially with more technical disciplines which aren’t taught in regular law Masters: export control, frequency management, telecommunication networks, space environment.. Our teachers help us going beyond law, understand how all tech behind works or, simply saying, fully prepare us for the future professional career.

Speaking about which, besides visiting the lectures, two days in a week I’m working as a space law and telecoms trainee at Bird and Bird, the international law firm, having more than 30 offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and North America. My duties include primarily legal research on specific space law issues, also drafting and lots of communications with my colleagues and clients. Needless to say that I’m fond of my job ?
Another nice detail that I wanted to share are TRAVELS. We planned three for the next semester. First one to ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse, one of the leading French engineering schools where will be having a week of space tech courses. Second to Switzerland, to the headquarters of our sponsor this year, International Telecommunication Union. And the third one.. this June, together with Cindy, Samuel, Manon and Pierre-Emmanuel we are representing our Uni at the “Model ICAO” hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal, Canada.
‘Model ICAO’ as explained by the ICAO itself “is an extra-curricular activity whereby students can role play as Delegations to ICAO’s 36-member Governing Council, simulating its committees, reviews and other governance and policy related outcome.” You should agree with me, it sounds more than great😊

Last but not least, I’m sharing this adventures with wonderful people:

On this note, my reader, I want to thank you for participating in this intergalactic journey. Wishing you Merry Christmas and nice winter holidays!
